Health Checkup
Health Checkups & Medical Assessments
1. Pre-Employment Medical (PME)
Purpose: Baseline assessment conducted before hiring to ensure candidates are physically capable of performing the job and to establish a “Health Baseline” to protect the company from future liability claims.
Typical Inclusions: Physical examination, Vision Test, CBC (Blood test), Urine Routine, and Chest X-Ray.
2. Periodical Medical Examination (PME)
Purpose: A recurring statutory checkup (usually annual or bi-annual) conducted during employment to monitor occupational health exposure and comply with the Factories Act, 1948. It detects occupational diseases at an early, reversible stage, reducing insurance premiums and preventing litigation.
Frequency: Typically every 12 months for general industry, or every 6 months (or as specified) for employees in Hazardous Processes.
